To reduce power consumption in a drive system equipped with a dynamic brake.SOLUTION: A power conversion device of the present invention performs control to cause a first power conversion circuit 101 to function as a step-up/step-down circuit that raises a DC input voltage of a second power conversion circuit 102 above a voltage of a DC wire 1, and performs control to cause a first power conversion device to function as a dynamic brake using a brake resistor 106. By such control, energy saving of an electric vehicle drive system equipped with the dynamic brake is achieved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】本発明は、発電ブレーキを搭載した駆動システムにおいて消費電力量を削減する。【解決手段】本発明の電力変換装置は、第一の電力変換回路101を第二の電力変換回路102の直流入力電圧を直流架線1の電圧以上に上昇する昇降圧回路として機能させる制御を行い、また、第一の電力変換装置をブレーキ抵抗器106を用いた発電ブレーキとして機能させる制御を行う。このような制御により、発電ブレーキを搭載した電気車駆動システムを省エネルギー化する。【選択図】図2
