PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road side machine to be used in an accident monitoring system, which reliably detects occurrence of an accident and minutely obtains an accident state.SOLUTION: A road side machine 100 includes: a first communication section 150 for performing road-vehicle communication with an on-vehicle unit 220 mounted on a first vehicle 200; a second communication section 160 for performing communication with an accident monitoring server 300; an acquisition section 120 for acquiring first image information from an imaging apparatus 110 for imaging a state on a road; and a detection section 130 for detecting occurrence of an accident by a second vehicle on the basis of the first image information acquired by the acquisition section 120. The acquisition section 120 acquires vehicle information to be obtained from the first vehicle 200 via the first communication section 150 when the detection section 130 detects occurrence of an accident.
