PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a large current with high accuracy with shunt resistors connected in parallel, and reduce a CPU load on a microcomputer calculating a current value to promptly detect an excessive peak current.SOLUTION: A current detector comprises: shunt resistors 2 that are connected in parallel; a plurality of current detection circuits 5 that are connected to the shunt resistors; and a micro computer 6 that calculates current values output from the current detection circuits 5 at a predetermined period to calculate the total current of all the shunt resistors. The current detection circuits 5 include a first current detection circuit 5A that outputs a current signal to the microcomputer at a short period, and second current detection circuits 5B that output current signals to the microcomputer 6 at a long period; the microcomputer calculates the total current from the current signals input from the first current detection circuit 5A and second current detection circuits 5B.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
