PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a heavy duty tire which is excellent in low heat build-up properties, wear resistance, and wet grip performance when formed into a tire, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition for a heavy duty tire.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a heavy duty tire contains a diene rubber (A), an ester compound (B), and a white filler (C). The ester compound (B) is an ester compound selected from a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether phosphate and the like. The diene rubber (A) has an average glass transition temperature of less than -50°C. The diene rubber (A) contains 50 mass% or more of an isoprene rubber. The content of the ester compound (B) is 0.5-45 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the white filler (C). The content of the white filler (C) is 5-80 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the diene rubber (A). The rubber composition for a heavy duty tire has a type A rubber hardness specified by JIS of 55 or more at a temperature of 0°C after curing.SELECTED DRAWING: None

    【課題】タイヤにしたときに低発熱性、耐摩耗性、および、ウェットグリップ性能に優れる重荷重用タイヤ用ゴム組成物、ならびに、上記重荷重用タイヤ用ゴム組成物を用いた空気入りタイヤを提供する。【解決手段】ジエン系ゴム(A)と、エステル化合物(B)と、白色充填剤(C)とを含有し、エステル化合物(B)が、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテルリン酸エステル等から選択されるエステル化合物であり、ジエン系ゴム(A)の平均ガラス転移温度が、−50℃未満であり、ジエン系ゴム(A)が、イソプレン系ゴムを50質量%以上含有し、エステル化合物(B)の含有量が、白色充填剤(C)100質量部に対して0.5〜45質量部であり、白色充填剤(C)の含有量が、ジエン系ゴム(A)100質量部に対して5〜80質量部であり、硬化後の温度0℃におけるJIS規定のタイプAのゴム硬度が55以上となる、重荷重用タイヤ用ゴム組成物。【選択図】なし
