PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide "a parking direction calculation device and a drive support system" capable of further accurately calculating a parking direction.SOLUTION: When backward movement occurs right after forward movement, a travel distance for which a vehicle moved forward and that for which the vehicle moved backward are recorded until the vehicle parks. In a case where parking occurs, when a sum total of a backward movement travel distance is less than a vehicle length L and when the sum total of a forward movement travel distance is larger than that of the backward movement travel distance, the vehicle is determined to perform forward movement parking. When the sum total of the backward movement travel distance is larger than the vehicle length L and the sum total of the backward movement travel distance is larger than the sum total of the forward movement travel distance, the vehicle is determined to perform backward movement parking.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6

    【課題】、駐車方向をより正しく算定することができる「駐車方向算定装置及び運転支援システム」を提供する。【解決手段】前進直後の後進が発生したならば、駐車するまでの間、自動車が前進した走行距離と後進した走行距離とを記録する。そして、駐車が発生したならば、後進した走行距離の総和が車長Lよりも大きくない場合と、前進した走行距離の総和が後進した走行距離の総和よりも大きい場合には、自動車は前進駐車を行っていると判定し、後進した走行距離の総和が車長Lよりも大きく、後進した走行距離の総和が前進した走行距離の総和よりも大きい場合には、自動車は後進駐車を行っていると判定する。【選択図】図6
