PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle driven by electrical power generated by an electric generator according to the tread force of a driver in which it is possible for a driver to travel at a desired tread force.SOLUTION: An electric vehicle comprises: an electric generator drive member 17 driven by the tread force of a driver; an electric generator 18 connected to the electric generator drive member 17; an electric motor 15 connected to a drive wheel 16 and driven by the electrical power generated by the electric generator 18; and control means 32 that controls the operation of the electric generator 18 and the electric motor 15. The electric vehicle includes tread force selection means Sa which selects the amount of tread force for driving the electric generator drive member 17. The control means 32 controls the electrical power generation of the electric generator 18 with a generation current command value that corresponds to the amount of tread force selected by the tread force selection means Sa, thereby allowing the electric generator drive member 17 to operate at a high speed when the vehicle is traveling at a low speed, and allowing the electric generator drive member 17 to operate at a low speed when the vehicle is traveling at a high speed. Thus it is possible to travel at a constant tread force corresponding to the leg strength and preference of the driver without requiring a mechanical transmission which causes cost increases.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】 搭乗者の踏力により発電機が発電した電力で電動機を駆動して走行する電動車両において、搭乗者が希望する踏力で走行するのを可能にする。【解決手段】 電動車両は、搭乗者の踏力により駆動される発電機駆動部材17と、発電機駆動部材17に接続された発電機18と、駆動輪16に接続されて発電機18の発電電力で作動する電動機15と、発電機18および電動機15の作動を制御する制御手段32とを備える。電動車両は、発電機駆動部材17を駆動するための踏力の大きさを選択する踏力選択手段Saを備え、制御手段32は、踏力選択手段Saで選択した踏力の大きさに相当する発電電流指令値で発電機18の発電を制御するので、低車速時には発電機駆動部材17を高速で駆動し、高車速時には発電機駆動部材17を低速で駆動することで、コストアップの要因となる機械的な変速機を必要とせずに、搭乗者の脚力や好みに応じた一定の踏力で走行することが可能となる。【選択図】 図4
