PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bicycle speed change gear capable of appropriately changing the gear ratio and a bicycle assist system equipped with the speed change gear.SOLUTION: A bicycle speed change gear comprises a setting mechanism for setting shifting paths in transmission mechanisms that includes a first speed change mechanism and transmit rotation from an input body to an output body at gear ratios of three or more steps. The transmission mechanisms establish a first shifting path for transmitting the rotation at one of first and second gear ratios via speed change with the first speed change mechanism, and a second shifting path for transmitting the rotation at a greater gear ratio than the first and second gear ratios via speed change with a speed change mechanism different from the first speed change mechanism. The first shifting path includes a first planetary shifting path that is via speed change with a first planetary mechanism and is not via speed change with a second planetary mechanism, and a second planetary shifting path that is not via speed change with the first planetary mechanism and is via speed change with the second planetary mechanism. The setting mechanism sets the transmission mechanisms not to go through speed change with the first planetary mechanism in the second sifting path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
