PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a rubber composition for a tread of a passenger car summer tire, allowing for production of a passenger car summer tire having excellent rolling resistance performance and wet grip performance; a tire tread using the rubber composition partly; and a passenger car pneumatic summer tire.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a tread of a passenger car summer tire is provided that contains a farnesene polymer (B) having a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 to 500,000 by 0.1 to 50 pts.mass and a filler (C) by 20 to 150 pts.mass per 100 pts.mass of at least one rubber component (A) selected from among synthetic rubber and natural rubber, and that has a tan δ peak temperature after vulcanization of -40°C or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
