PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide car number recognition that can be performed at an individual parking space-type parking lot in an economical manner, since a car number recognition device that instantaneously reads the car number from the number plate of a vehicle is used at a gate-type pay parking lot, but commercially-available car number recognition software is expensive, and a license fee occurs for each camera that images the vehicle, which requires considerable cost for placing cameras in many parking spaces as in an individual parking space-type parking lot to perform car number recognition, and cannot be applied economically.SOLUTION: Entered vehicles A to D are imaged with a monitoring camera 12 provided for each individual parking space 11, and those images are input to a car number recognition device 14 sequentially at fixed time intervals with an image switching device 13 for recognition of the car number, and then, an information sorting device 15 synchronized with switching timing of the car number recognition device is caused to store the output in a data file 16 for each individual parking space. Accordingly, an economical system for enabling the car numbers of vehicles in many parking spaces to be recognized using an inexpensive monitoring camera is constructed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】車両のナンバープレートから瞬時に車番を読み取る車番認識装置がゲート式有料駐車場で利用されている。しかし、市販されている車番認識ソフトは高価な上に車両を撮影するカメラ毎にライセンス料が発生するため、個別車室方式駐車場の様に多数の車室にカメラを置いて車番認識を行うには多大な費用を要し経済的に適用することができなかった。本発明は、個別車室式駐車場で可能な車番認識を経済的な方法で提供する。【解決手段】個別車室11毎に設けた監視カメラ12で入庫する車両A〜Dを撮影し、それらの画像を画像切り替え装置13で一定時間毎に順番に車番認識装置14に入力し車番を認識させた後、車番認識装置の切替タイミングと同期させた情報振り分け装置15で、その出力を個別車室毎のデータファイル16に収納させる。これにより安価な監視用カメラを使って、多数の車室の車両の車番を認識できる経済的なシステムを構築する。【選択図】図3
