PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect in shorter time as compared with conventional ones whether or not the gap between the riser and the skirt guard is within the allowable range.SOLUTION: The automatic gap measuring device for a passenger conveyor is applied to a passenger conveyor to transport passengers by circulating operation of a footstep, and comprises: distance sensors arranged on the back side of each of risers constituting the footstep as well as on sides facing a pair of skirt guards to measure respective gaps between the respective skirt guards and the riser; and a controller acquiring data measured by the distance sensors in time series during running of the footstep, and determining an occurrence of a gap abnormality upon acquisition of the measured data exceeding a preset gap threshold, among the measured data acquired in time series.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
