PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifetime estimation device which enables predicting a residual lifetime of an inverter device mounted on a vehicle with higher precision.SOLUTION: A lifetime estimation device 10 applicable to an inverter device 7 controlling a drive motor 3 of a vehicle A comprises a temperature detection unit 10a for detecting a temperature of a switching element 7a of the inverter device 7, an operation period determination unit 10b for determining an operation period of the drive motor 3 based on load torque of the drive motor 3, a consumption lifetime calculation unit 10c for calculating, for each operation period of the drive motor 3, a lifetime consumption amount of the inverter device 7 based on a range of temperature alteration of the switching element 7a in the operation period, and a residual lifetime calculation unit 10d for calculating a residual lifetime of the inverter device 7 based on the cumulative lifetime consumption amount of the inverter device 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
