PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel shaft transport device which comprises a pair of right and left transport trucks that tranport wheel shafts along a right and left rails set on a floor, reduces required underground pit space where the trucks go and return and which enables the right truck to move synchronously with the left one.SOLUTION: A wheel shaft transport device 10 enables a pair of right and left transport trucks 4 to transport wheel shafts W along rails 1, the pair of right and left transport trucks having a stopper 2 to stop a wheel S of a wheel shaft W on one of a pair of right and left rails 1 set on a floor FL, and a drive motor 3 to move the truck for self-movement and going and returning in an underground pit P in a condition that one of the trucks moves synchronously with the other. Each right and left truck 4 comprises respectively a moving optical transmission device 5 optically transmitting in the direction along the rail, and in the underground pit P, fixed optical transmission devices 6 are set to optically communicate with the moving optical transmission device 5 along the rail and the motors 3 are synchronously controlled based on input and output information optically transmitted along the rail between the moving optical transmission device 5 and fixed optical transmission devices 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】床面に敷設された左右のレールに沿って輪軸を搬送する左右一対の搬送台車が往復移動する地下ピットの省スペース化が可能であり、当該搬送台車を左右同期して移動できる輪軸搬送装置を提供する。【解決手段】床面FLに敷設された左右のレール1上に載置された輪軸Wの車輪Sを係止する係止部2と自走用の駆動モータ3とを備え地下ピットP内を同期して往復移動する左右一対の搬送台車4によって、輪軸Wをレール1に沿って移動させる輪軸搬送装置10である。左右一対の搬送台車4には、レール方向に光伝送する移動側光伝送装置5をそれぞれ備え、地下ピットP内には、移動側光伝送装置5との間でレール方向に光伝送する固定側光伝送装置6をそれぞれ備え、移動側光伝送装置5と固定側光伝送装置6とが互いにレール方向に光伝送する入出力情報に基づいて駆動モータ3を同期制御する。【選択図】図2
