PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for cooling a battery module, the device having enhanced effectiveness in preventing the temperature of the battery module from becoming excessively high.SOLUTION: The device for cooling a battery module 10 comprises: a housing 110 for storing the battery module, the housing being mounted on a vehicle 1; a first communication portion 120 that causes a cabin of the vehicle and a storage space for the battery module in the housing, to be in communication with each other, and through which air in the cabin to be taken into the storage space passes; a second communication portion 130 that causes the storage space and the outside of the housing to be in communication with each other, and in which there is provided a fan 140 capable of blowing air in the storage space to the outside of the housing; a third communication portion 150 that causes the storage space and the outside of the vehicle to be in communication with each other, and through which smoke rising from the battery module to be discharged to the outside of the vehicle passes; a first closure portion 125 that can open and close the first communication portion; a second closure portion 155 that can open and close the third communication portion; and a controller 300 for, when the vehicle is parked, controlling the operation of the first closure portion, the second closure portion, and the fan, on the basis of the comparison result between a temperature inside the housing and an ambient temperature outside the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
