PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging system for an electric vehicle, which is able to reduce the size of a capacitor while hindering electric current ripple, and to provide an on-vehicle charging unit.SOLUTION: A charging system for an electric vehicle comprises an out-vehicle power conversion device 100 and an on-vehicle power storage device 20. The charging system comprises an on-vehicle power conversion device 10 having capacitors 13, 14 for smoothing an electric current and configured to convert an input voltage Vin, supplied from the out-vehicle power conversion device 100, into a charging voltage for the on-vehicle power storage device 20. The charging system comprises a control communication device 30 configured to derive the input voltage value Vin through calculation on the basis of input information and to output, as a supply voltage instruction value, the input voltage value Vin to the out-vehicle power conversion device 100 through communication. The on-vehicle power conversion device 10 has an interleave circuit of at least two or more phases. The control communication device 30 uses, as input information, the number of interleave phases of the on-vehicle power conversion device 10 and a voltage between the positive and negative terminals of the on-vehicle storage device 20. Through calculation, the control communication device derives, as an input voltage value Vin, a voltage value at which input current ripple of the on-vehicle power conversion device 10 is hindered.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
