PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce reaction force while a predetermined accelerator opening (accelerator pedal depression amount) is maintained, and thus eliminate fatigue and uncomfortable feeling of a driver.SOLUTION: A reaction force application device for an accelerator pedal increases reaction force resisting to tread force for depressing an accelerator pedal of a vehicle in accordance with an increase in the depression amount and then reduces the reaction force. When the accelerator pedal is depressed and the depression amount reaches a preset predetermined value, the reaction force application device executes reaction force increase control for increasing the reaction force at a rate larger than an increase rate of the reaction force relative to an increase amount of the depression amount in a state where the depression amount is less than the predetermined value. The reaction force increase control is control for increasing the reaction force in accordance with a depression speed when the accelerator pedal is depressed and reducing the increased reaction force in accordance with a reduction in depression speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7

    【課題】所定のアクセル開度(アクセルペダル踏込量)を維持している状態での反力を低減して運転者の疲労や違和感を解消する。【解決手段】車両のアクセルペダルを踏み込む踏力に対抗する反力を、踏込量の増大に応じて増大させた後に低下させるアクセルペダルの反力付与装置において、アクセルペダルが踏み込まれて踏込量が予め定めた所定値になった場合に、踏込量が所定値未満の状態における踏込量の増大量に対する反力の増大割合よりも大きい割合で反力を増大させる反力増大制御を実行し、反力増大制御は、アクセルペダルが踏み込まれた場合の踏込速度に応じて反力を増大させ、かつ踏込速度の低下に応じて、増大させた反力を減少させる制御である。【選択図】図7
