PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the strength of an end plate made of aluminum alloy.SOLUTION: In an electric power unit including multiple rectangular secondary battery cells 1, tabular end plates 3 placed on a pair of end faces, respectively, in a state where the secondary battery cells 1 are laminated, and a fastening member 4 for fastening the end plates 3, the end plates 3 are made of aluminum alloy and provided, at a part thereof, with a borehole suppression mechanism for suppressing occurrence of boreholes. With such an arrangement, occurrence of boreholes, such as cavities, is suppressed when die-casting the end plate 3 made of aluminum alloy, and since strength degradation of the end plate 3 can be circumvented, an electric power unit having improved reliability is realized.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
