PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper member connection structure that can prevent reduction of the efficiency of transmitting energy rearward at the time of a collision.SOLUTION: An upper member 2 connected so as to form a closed cross-section by an apron member 4 of a substantially L-shape in cross-section and a cowl side member 6 of a substantially reversed L-shape in cross-section is connected via an impact control member 10 to a side outer panel 8b of an outer panel 8, thereby configuring an upper member connection structure. A bead 10a is formed at the impact control member 10 so that a ridge line passes in a vehicle longitudinal direction. An opening upper rim 6a adjacent to a rear end of the upper member 2 is provided to abut an abutting rim of the bead 10a and is connected so as to be sandwiched from above and below by two flanges 10b, 10c extending from the impact control member 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】衝突時の後方へのエネルギー伝達効率の低下を防止できるアッパメンバ連結構造を提供する。【解決手段】断面略L字型のエプロンメンバ4と断面略逆L字型のカウルサイドメンバ6とにより閉断面を形成するように接合されたアッパメンバ2が、衝撃制御部材10を介してアウタパネル8のサイドアウタパネル8b部分に連結されることによりアッパメンバ連結構造が構成される。衝撃制御部材10には、車両前後方向に稜線が通るようにビード10aが形成されている。アッパメンバ2の後端側の開口上縁6aは、ビード10aの突合縁に突き合わされ、且つ、衝撃制御部材10から延設された2箇所のフランジ10b、10cによって上下から挟まれるように接合されている。【選択図】図1
