PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a structure by which a relative displacement of a protective tube to an inner shaft in an axial direction can be prevented at an appropriate position without unnecessarily increasing the entire length of the protective tube even when the size of the intermediate shaft is long in the axial direction.SOLUTION: A protective tube 14 is fitted to the outer side of an inner shaft 7, which configures an intermediate shaft 3a, so as to extend over a narrow portion 13 provided at an intermediate portion of the inner shaft 7 in an axial direction. A first snap ring 16 for allowing the protective tube 14 to be displaced relatively toward one end side of the protective tube 14 in the axial direction at the time of a collision is locked to a portion of the inner shaft 7, which is located adjacent to the one end side in the axial direction. A second snap ring 18 for preventing the protective tube 14 from being displaced further toward the one end side in the axial direction is fixed to a portion of the inner shaft 7, which is separated by a predetermined distance from the first snap ring 16 toward the one end side in the axial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】中間シャフトの軸方向寸法が長い場合にも、保護チューブの全長を徒に長くせずに、適切な位置にて保護チューブのインナシャフトに対する軸方向の相対変位を阻止できる構造を実現する。【解決手段】中間シャフト3aを構成するインナシャフト7の軸方向中間部に設けられた括れ部13を跨ぐ様に、保護チューブ14を外嵌する。この保護チューブ14の軸方向一端側に隣接する部分には、衝突事故発生時に保護チューブ14が軸方向一端側へと相対変位する事を許容する第1止め輪16を係止し、この第1止め輪16から軸方向一端側に所定長さ分だけ離隔した部分には、保護チューブ14が軸方向一端側にそれ以上相対変位する事を阻止する為の第2止め輪18を固定する。【選択図】図1
