PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle-purpose optical radar device that can form a far-distance detection area and short-distance detection area, while suppressing power consumption of a light emitting element.SOLUTION: A vehicle-purpose optical radar device 100 comprises: a light projection unit that projects light forward a vehicle 200; and a light reception unit that receives the light reflected upon objects present forward the vehicle 200. The light projection unit includes: a light emitting element that emits light; and a light projection lens that makes the light emitted from the light emitting element diffuse in a vehicle width direction X of the vehicle 200 and vertical direction Y thereof and projects the light forward the vehicle 200. The light projection lens is configured to diffuse the light so that a spreading angle β in the vehicle width direction X in a lower side region of the light to be projected becomes an angle greater than a spreading angle α in the vehicle width direction X in an upper side region thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9

    【課題】発光素子の消費電力を抑制しつつ、遠距離検出領域と近距離検出領域を形成することが可能な車両用光学式レーダ装置を提供する。【解決手段】車両用光学式レーダ装置100は、車両200の前方へ光を投光する投光部と、車両200の前方にある物体で反射した光を受光する受光部とを備えている。投光部は、光を出射する発光素子と、発光素子から出射した光を、車両200の車幅方向Xおよび上下方向Yに拡散させて、車両200の前方へ投光する投光レンズとを含む。投光レンズは、投光する光の下側領域における車幅方向Xの広がり角βが、上側領域における車幅方向Xの広がり角αよりも大きな角度となるように、光を拡散させる。【選択図】図9
