PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suggest an electronic control device and an electronic control method which can surely achieve fail-safe with a simple circuit configuration in an integrated electronic control device.SOLUTION: An integrated electronic control device (10) controls both of operations of an engine system (20) and a transmission system (30) by a single microcomputer (11). The electronic control device includes a single monitoring section (12) for monitoring the operation of the microcomputer (11). When the monitoring section (12) detects an abnormal operation of the microcomputer (11), both the operations of the engine system (20) and the transmission system (30) are controlled according to fail-safe.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
