PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relative motion member which has a plurality of members relatively moving, and which can control frictional resistance when the members move.SOLUTION: A relative motion member includes a first member made of an insulator, a second member relatively rotatable to the first member and made of an insulator, and a lubricant filled in a space between the first member and the second member. The lubricant includes an ER fluid, and in the space, one or a plurality of electrodes for forming an electric field including a vertical direction component with respect to a relative motion direction of the first member and the second member are respectively provided in the first member and the second member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
