PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion unit capable of solving a problem of a gas adhesion to an electrode in the case where water is electrolyzed under a minute gravity environment such as a space.SOLUTION: A propulsion unit 1 is constituted to comprise an electrode 20 arranged in a predetermined space 11 and to produce hydrogen and oxygen in electrolysis by electrifying the electrode 20 while the predetermined space 11 is filled with an electrolyte, and those hydrogen and oxygen are caused to react thereby to generate a thrust. The propulsion unit comprises removal means (a piezoelectric element 40 and a drive unit 41) for removing the gases having stuck to the electrode 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
