PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine which ejects a combustion gas as driving force.SOLUTION: An engine 10 has a combustion chamber 11, a fuel supply passage 13 which mixes a fuel and air and supplies a mixed gas into a combustion chamber 11, an igniter 42 which ignites the mixed gas in the combustion chamber 11, a gas discharge passage 15 which ejects a combustion gas 51 from a combustion chamber 11 via a nozzle 18a, and an open/close device 80 which opens/closes the gas discharge passage 15. The gas discharge passage 15 can be opened by the open/close device 80 just before, simultaneously at, or just after an ignition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
