PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil lifter that can shorten operation time while maintaining a storage capacity of a storage space when handling a coil with a coil lifter.SOLUTION: A coil lifter 1 comprises a base portion 2, a pair of arm portions 5, provided in the base portion 2, which is positioned on both end surfaces 4 of a coil 3 to approach and separate from each other, and claw enter/exit mechanisms 7, provided opposing to lower end parts of the arm portions 5, which are inserted into a center hole 6 of the coil 3 to engage with the hole. The claw enter/exit mechanisms 7 comprise: turning levers 21, provided in the arm portions 5 to be turnable vertically, which point upward or downward when engaging therewith and when disengaging therefrom; engagement claw portions 22 which are pinned to turning ends of the turning levers 21 and inserted into the center hole 6 of the coil 3; and pedestals 23 for sliding claws, provided in the arm portions 5, which when the turning levers 21 turn from non-engagement positions to engagement positions, changes directions of the engagement claw portions 22 to horizontal postures and supports the engagement claw portions 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
