PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which can reduce labor such as a power source operation in a portable radio machine which can be mounted on a movable body.SOLUTION: A radio communication system having an on-vehicle adaptor 120 mounted on an automobile 110, and a portable radio machine 130 which can be fitted onto the on-vehicle adaptor 120, in which when an ignition switch 112 of the automobile 110 is switched on, a voltage is supplied to the portable radio machine 130 from a battery 111 of the automobile 110 via the on-vehicle adaptor 120. The on-vehicle adaptor 120 comprises a magnetic generating part 211 which generates magnetism based on the voltage from the automobile 110, and the portable radio machine 130 comprises a magnetic detection part 221 which detects magnetism generated by the magnetic generating part 211, and a control part 222 which switches on an electric power source of the portable radio machine 130 according to detection of magnetism by the magnetic detection part 221.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
