PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an excessive rotation of a first motor when an electric transmission mechanism is failed, without allowing drivability to deteriorate during a travel with the electric transmission mechanism in normal state, in a power transmission device including the electric transmission mechanism and a mechanical transmission in series.SOLUTION: In a case where an electric transmission mechanism is failed, with an operation of an engine stopped, an automatic transmission is up-shifted, causing an AT input rotation speed to be lowered than before the failure of the electric transmission mechanism is determined when the engine is stopped revolving in association with the operation stop. This causes an absolute value of an MG1 rotation speed to be decreased in comparison with a case where the automatic transmission is not up-shifted, suppressing a first motor MG1 from over-rotating. Further, in a travel with the electric transmission mechanism in normal state, it is unnecessary to travel avoiding a travel zone with an AT input rotation speed or higher, the zone where the first motor MG1 over-rotates as the engine revolution is stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5

    【課題】電気式変速機構と機械式変速機構とを直列に備えた動力伝達装置において、電気式変速機構の正常時の走行中におけるドライバビリティを低下させることなく、電気式変速機構の故障時に第1電動機の過回転を抑制する。【解決手段】電気式無段変速機が故障し且つエンジンの運転が停止される場合には、自動変速機がアップシフトされるので、運転停止に伴ってエンジンが回転停止したときには、AT入力回転速度は電気式無段変速機の故障が判定される前よりも低くされる。これにより、MG1回転速度は自動変速機がアップシフトされない場合と比べて絶対値が低くされるので、第1電動機MG1の過回転が抑制される。又、電気式無段変速機の正常時の走行中において、エンジンが回転停止させられると第1電動機MG1が過回転となってしまうようなAT入力回転速度以上の走行領域を避けて走行する必要がない。【選択図】図5
