PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect degradation of a steel cord built in a handrail of a passenger conveyor at a high SN ratio.SOLUTION: A handrail inspection device (1100) provided with: plural coil sets respectively including a first oscillation coil (1) and a second oscillation coil (2) which are located in one row on a face of an inspection object facing a handrail along an elongation direction of the handrail, and a reception coil which is positioned at or near a midpoint between the first oscillation coil and the second oscillation coil and outputs a magnetic field waveform based on a magnetic field received from the first oscillation coil and the second oscillation coil as inspection data; a first changeover part which flows an AC current to the first oscillation coil and the second oscillation coil which belong to selected any one of the coil sets; and a second changeover part which is connected to the plural reception coils and selects any reception coil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9

    【課題】高SN比で、乗客コンベアのハンドレールに内蔵されたスチールコードの劣化を検査する。【解決手段】検査対象のハンドレールと対向する面に、ハンドレールの伸長方向に沿って一列に配置された、互いに逆向きの交流磁場を発生する第1発振コイル(1)および第2発振コイル(2)と、第1発振コイルと第2発振コイルの中間またはその近傍に位置し、第1発振コイルおよび第2発振コイルから受けた磁場に基づく磁場波形を検査データとして出力する受信コイルと、をそれぞれが含む複数のコイルセットと、交流電流を、選択された何れか一のコイルセットに属する第1発振コイルおよび第2発振コイルに流す第1の切替部と、複数の受信コイルと接続され、何れかの受信コイルを選択する第2の切替部と、をハンドレール検査装置(1100)に設けた。【選択図】図9
