PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel plate transporter in which locking and holding of a steel plate can be stably and firmly performed by a fall-preventing mechanism.SOLUTION: A steel plate transporter comprising a pair of fall-preventing mechanisms 6 whose upper part is connected to an operation device side and which comprises an electromagnet 5 which adsorbs a steel plate 50 on a lower surface side, and further, which are engaged with a marginal part of the steel plate 50 adsorbed by the electromagnet 5 thereby preventing fall of the steel plate 50. The steel plate transporter comprises: lock means 10 by which the fall-preventing mechanism 6 is engaged with the marginal part of the steel plate 50 at a tip thereof; driving means 8 for the lock means 10; and operation control means which rotates the lock means 10 from an initial rise position to a final descent position by action of the driving means 8, and substantially horizontally moves the lock means toward the marginal part of the steel plate 50 from the final decent position by a later stage operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
