PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of safely and economically mooring and installing an underwater power-generating device in its operational position, along with a method of safely bringing the device to the ocean surface for maintenance or for replacement of components.SOLUTION: Provided is a method comprising the steps of: positioning, deploying, setting, and performing a forward mooring line anchor 18 and a vertical mooring line anchor 20; attaching a mud mat and a releasable subsea connector to the vertical mooring line anchor; attaching the forward mooring line to a temporary surface buoy and the forward mooring line anchor; connecting the forward mooring line to a buoyant submersible apparatus and submerging the buoyant submersible apparatus to an operating depth, using a weight; attaching a second end of the vertical mooring line to the subsea connector; and winding up the weight to the ocean surface so that the buoyant submersible apparatus floats to the surface.
