PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the fuel consumption of a vehicle by lightening a backup power supply to reduce the weight of the vehicle.SOLUTION: A backup power supply device 8 includes a power supply input unit 9, an output unit 10, a capacitor unit 11, a charging circuit unit 12 provided in a charging path from the power supply input unit 9 to the capacitor unit 11, a boosting circuit unit 13 provided in an output path to the capacitor unit 11 and the output unit 10, and a collision prediction signal input unit 14. When the capacitor unit 11 is charged to a charging voltage in advance by the charging unit 12 and the voltage of the power supply input unit 9 is lower than a threshold value, a boosted voltage boosted from the charging voltage in the boosting circuit unit 13 is output from the output unit 10 in response to reception of a signal by the collision prediction signal input unit 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
