PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fraud detecting ECU (Electronic Control Unit) for efficient fraud detection.SOLUTION: A fraud detecting ECU 2100 in which plural ECUs complying with a CAN protocol are connected to a bus used for communications to detect frauds includes a fraud detection processing timing holder 144 for holding correspondence information between each ID and reception timing of one or more specific fields in a frame, a fraud state holder 2157 for holding fraud state information which is updated so as to indicate the number of fraud detections of frames of each ID, a fraud detection processing requesting unit 142 for determining, as fraud detection timing, a timing which is correlated with the ID of a frame obtained from the bus based on the correspondence information, and a fraud detection processor 2154 for performing fraud detection processing at the determined fraud detection timing. The fraud detection processing timing holder 144 updates the correspondence information so that the reception timings of more specific fields are associated with each ID as the fraud detection frequency increases.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
