PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve alleviation of sense of incongruity in steering when shifting to a manual steering corresponding to a driver's intension, as well as improvement of safety when shifting to the manual steering corresponding to an establishment of an uncontrollable condition.SOLUTION: A steering assistance control apparatus is provided, comprising: a positional deviation calculator that calculates a lateral positional deviation between an own vehicle and a steering follow-up object, based on a detection signal by a sensor; a target value calculator that calculates a steering-related control target value, based on the lateral positional deviation; a steering driver that drives a steering mechanism, based on the control target value; and a controller for controlling the operation of a steering control system formed by including the sensor, the positional deviation calculator, the target value calculator, and the steering driver. The controller, if an operation input is performed to instruct to stop a steering control realized by the steering control system, reduces the control target value to a minimum value by spending a first period, and if an uncontrollable condition of the steering control is established during the own vehicle's traveling along a curved road, reduces the control target value to the minimum value by spending a second period longer than the first period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】運転者意思に応じた手動操舵への切り替え時における操舵違和感の緩和と、制御不能条件の成立に応じた手動操舵への切り替え時の安全性の向上との両立を図る。【解決手段】センサによる検出信号に基づき自車両と操舵追従対象との横方向位置偏差を算出する位置偏差算出部と、横方向位置偏差に基づき操舵についての制御目標値を算出する目標値算出部と、制御目標値に基づき操舵機構を駆動する操舵駆動部と、センサ、位置偏差算出部、目標値算出部、及び操舵駆動部を有して形成される操舵制御系の動作を制御する制御部とを備え、制御部は、操舵制御系により実現される操舵制御の停止を指示する操作入力が行われた場合は、制御目標値を第一の期間をかけて最小値まで減少させ、自車両がカーブ路を走行中に操舵制御の不能条件が成立した場合は、制御目標値を第一の期間よりも長い第二の期間をかけて最小値まで減少させる。【選択図】図3
