PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent continuous fibers from protruding as burrs from the end edge of a bumper beam including a continuous fiber-reinforced resin layer without needing trimming.SOLUTION: A bumper beam body 13 and upper and lower flange parts 22 include a continuous fiber-reinforced resin layer, and first flange tip parts 22a made of a thermoplastic resin, having L-shaped sections and extending outside in a vertical direction to bend outside in a back-and-forth direction are connected to the end edges of the flange parts 22. Thus, even when continuous fibers or a matrix resin of the continuous fiber-reinforced resin layer 20 protrude as burrs from the end edges of the flange parts 22, product quality can be improved by covering the burrs with the first flange tip parts 22a to eliminate the necessity of trimming work for deburring. Even when misalignment occurs during setting of a prepreg 20' of the continuous fiber-reinforced resin layer 20 in a press-forming mold 41, because of formation of the first flange tip parts 22a into L sectional shapes, the end edge of the prepreg 20' is prevented from reaching the tips of the sectional shapes, and the burrs are prevented from protruding more surely.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】 連続繊維強化樹脂層を含むバンパービームの端縁から連続繊維がバリとなってはみ出すのを、トリム加工を必要とせずに防止する。【解決手段】 バンパービーム本体13および上下のフランジ部22は連続繊維強化樹脂層を含み、フランジ部22の端縁に、上下方向外側に延びて前後方向外側に屈曲するL字状断面を有する熱可塑性樹脂製の第1フランジ先端部22aを接続したので、連続繊維強化樹脂層20の連続繊維やマトリクス樹脂がバリとなってフランジ部22の端縁からはみ出しても、そのバリを第1フランジ先端部22aで覆うことで、バリ取りのためのトリミング作業を不要にしながら製品の品質を高めることができる。また連続繊維強化樹脂層20のプリプレグ20´をプレス成形金型41内にセットする際に位置ずれしても、第1フランジ先端部22aはL字状断面に形成されているので、プリプレグ20´の端縁はL字状断面の先端に達することがなく、バリのはみ出しが一層確実に防止される。【選択図】 図4
