PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for analyzing a tire shape, capable of analyzing the shape with high accuracy even when the design pattern of an imaged image has a break.SOLUTION: An apparatus 4 for analyzing a tire shape comprises: a division line formation part 42 for forming a division line being a line within the region of a design pattern on the basis of an imaged image obtained by imaging a region including the design pattern formed on the surface of a tire; a design pattern region division part 43 for dividing the design pattern region of the imaged image on the basis of the formed division line; and an analysis part 44 for analyzing the divided design pattern regions to compose the analyzed results. The division line formation part 42 has the division line provided along a break when the design pattern includes the break and has one or more division lines when the design pattern does not include the break.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
