PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operator authentication device which can suppress an operation load in association with authentication of an operator.SOLUTION: An operator authentication device 1 is so generally configured as to comprise: a convex member 3 which is so located around a start switch 2 that when the start switch 2 is so operated as to start an engine of a vehicle, a hand 90 of an operator approaches or contacts a surface 31, and is projected with respect to the start switch 2; a biological sensor 4 which is located on the convex member 3 and reads biological information 40 which is obtained from the and 90 which approaches or contacts the surface of the surface 31 of the convex member 3; a storage part 5 which stores authentication information 50 for authentication of biological information 40; and a control part 6 which compares biological information 40 read by the biological sensor 4 and authentication information 50 stored by the storage part 5 with each other, and outputs the comparison result as operator information 60.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
