PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unmanned carrier capable of travelling on a set route without previously laid guide zone of, for example, a magnetic tape.SOLUTION: An unmanned carrier 1 that travels on a preset travel route in a work area comprises: travel route information storage means 9; an irradiation device 4 that radiates light onto a road surface; an image reading device 5 that reads an image of the road surface in a predetermined region within the road surface irradiated with the light; a distance measurement device 6 that measures a distance between the image reading device and the road surface in the predetermined region; image correction means 7 that corrects the image of the road surface read by the image reading device to an image at a predetermined distance on the basis of the distance measured by the distance measurement device; travel amount calculation means 8 that extracts a common part from an image (N) corrected by the image correction means and an image (N-1) after a lapse of a predetermined time, and calculates a travel distance and a travel direction of the unmanned carrier on the basis of a position and a size of the common part in the image (N-1); and control means 10 that compares a result of the calculation by the travel amount calculation means with the travel route and causes the unmanned carrier to travel the travel route.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】磁気テープなどの誘導帯を予め敷設することなく、設定した経路を走行させることができる無人搬送車を提供する。【解決手段】作業区域内において予め設定した走行経路を走行する無人搬送車1であって、走行経路情報記憶手段9と、路面に向けて光を照射する照射装置4と、光が照射された路面の内、所定領域の路面の画像を読み取る画像読取装置5と、所定領域の路面との距離を計測する距離計測装置6と計測された距離に基づき、画像読取装置により読み取られた路面画像を所定の距離における画像に補正する画像補正手段7とによって補正された画像(N)と、所定時間後の画像(N−1)から、共通部分を抽出し、画像(N−1)における共通部分の位置と大きさから無人搬送車の移動距離および移動方向を計算する移動量計算手段8と、同計算手段の計算結果と走行経路とを比較して無人搬送車を走行経路に沿って走行させる制御手段10を備える。【選択図】図1
