PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road gradient estimation device and a method of estimating road gradient that can prevent an erroneous estimation of an estimation value of a road gradient, when a driver operates a steering device.SOLUTION: The road gradient estimation device includes: component calculation means 37 for calculating a centrifugal acceleration component Ac applied to a vehicle 10 on the basis of a steering angle θn; and determination means 38 for determining whether or not the centrifugal acceleration component Ac calculated by the component calculation means 37 is equal to or more than a predetermined determination value A. If the centrifugal acceleration component Ac is determined as less than the determination value A by the determination means 38, an estimation value θz of a road gradient is set to an estimation gradient θx or a correction gradient θy, and if the centrifugal acceleration component Ac is determined to be equal to or more than the determination value A, an estimation by gradient estimation means 35 or correction means 36 is prohibited, and the estimation value θz is configured to be set to a predetermined set value θ0.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6

    【課題】運転者が操舵装置を操作した際の道路勾配の推定値の誤推定を防止できる道路勾配推定装置及び道路勾配推定方法を提供する。【解決手段】操舵角θnに基づいて車両10に掛かる遠心加速度成分Acを算出する成分算出手段37と、成分算出手段37で算出された遠心加速度成分Acが予め定められた判定値A以上か否かを判定する判定手段38と、を備え、判定手段38により、遠心加速度成分Acが判定値A未満と判定した場合には、道路勾配の推定値θzを推定勾配θx又は補正勾配θyにし、遠心加速度成分Acが判定値A以上と判定した場合には、勾配推定手段35、及び補正手段36による推定を禁止して、推定値θzを予め定められた設定値θ0にするように構成される。【選択図】図6
