PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardly loosening rack shaft.SOLUTION: A second rack tooth 12 of a VGR for meshing with a second pinion tooth 132 is formed on the tooth surface side, and a rack guide 51 for pressing to a second pinion shaft 131, slidingly contacts with the tooth reverse side, and the tooth reverse side becomes thick toward the outside in the axial direction with a steering angle 0° as the center so that pressing force to the second pinion shaft 131 becomes large toward the outside in the axial direction with the steering angle 0° as the center.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
