PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle position management system that can accurately track the current position of an emergency vehicle and reduce the total of communication charges by reducing the frequency of communication by packet communication because lengthening a transmission interval in order to reduce the frequency of communication to transmit positional information on the emergency vehicle to a fire-fighting command center, makes it impossible to accurately track the current position of the emergency vehicle.SOLUTION: A mobile station 20 calculates an estimated position of a vehicle per prescribed time, does not transmit positional information to a base station 30 if the calculated estimated position is close to an actual measurement position measured by a positioning unit 21, and transmits the positional information to the base station 30 if the estimated position is far away from the actual measurement position. On the other hand, if the base station 30 has not received the positional information from the mobile station 20 even if a prescribed time passes, it calculates an estimated position similar to the mobile station 20 and displays it on a base station map display unit 35.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】緊急車両の位置情報を消防本部に送信する通信回数を減らすために送信間隔を長くすると、緊急車両の現在位置を正確に把握することができなくなるため、緊急車両の現在位置を正確に把握でき、かつパケット通信による通信回数を削減して通信料金の総額を低減することができる車両位置管理システムを提供する。【解決手段】移動局20は所定時間毎に車両の推定位置を算出し、算出した推定位置と測位部21が測位した実測位置との距離が近い場合に基地局30に位置情報を送信せず、推定位置と実測位置が離れている場合に基地局30に位置情報を送信する。一方、基地局30は所定時間が経過しても移動局20から位置情報を受信しない場合に、移動局20と同様の推定位置を算出し基地局地図表示部35に表示する。【選択図】図2
