PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flank collision detection system making it possible to simplify a configuration and reduce a cost.SOLUTION: An internal space 12a of a door body 12 of a front side door 11 and an internal space 6A of a center pillar 6 are allowed to communicate with each other with a door striker 25. The internal space 6A of the center pillar 6 and an internal space 16A of a door body 16 of a rear side door 15 are allowed to communicate with each other over a communication pipe 31. A pressure sensor 35 that detects a variation in a pressure is disposed in the center pillar 6. Various flank collisions on the front side door 11, center pillar 6, or rear side door 15 can be detected using the sole pressure sensor 35. The various flank collisions can be sensed using the sole pressure sensor. The number of sensors can be diminished, a configuration and control can be simplified, and a cost can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】構成の簡素化及びコストダウンが図れる側面衝突検出装置を提供する。【解決手段】フロントサイドドア11のドア本体12内部空間12aとセンタピラー6の内部空間6Aとをドアストライカ25により連通し、センタピラー6の内部空間内6Aとリヤサイドドア15のドア本体16の内部空間16Aを連通管31により連通すると共に、センタピラー6内に圧力変動を検出する圧力センサ35を配置する。フロントサイドドア11、センタピラー6或いはリヤサイドドア15に衝突する種々の側面衝突が単一の圧力センサ35で検出でき、単一の圧力センサにより種々の側面衝突の検知が可能であり、センサの削減、構成及び制御の簡素化が得られ、コストダウンが図れる。【選択図】図3
