PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for properly controlling deceleration of an own vehicle even when a preceding vehicle is rapidly decelerated while the own vehicle is following the preceding vehicle.SOLUTION: Vehicle control equipment calculates a target time which is required until an inter-vehicle deviation obtained by subtracting a target inter-vehicle distance from a measured value of an inter-vehicle distance between an own vehicle and preceding vehicle becomes substantially zero. When the inter-vehicle deviation changes from substantial zero to a deviation associated with the position of the own vehicle approaching the preceding vehicle, the vehicle control equipment calculates a correction deceleration by making a deceleration larger than the target deceleration. The vehicle control equipment controls the deceleration of the own vehicle so that the inter-vehicle deviation becomes substantially zero due to a deceleration jerk, which depends on the magnitude of the correction deceleration, when the target time elapses. Accordingly, by controlling the deceleration of the own vehicle using the deceleration jerk dependent on the magnitude of the correction deceleration, the vehicle control equipment can prevent occurrence of a factor, which impedes amenity of a user of the own vehicle such as swinging back, and perform control of properly decelerating the own vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】自車両が先行車両を追従している場合に、先行車両が急減速したときでも自車両の減速の制御を適正に行う技術を提供する。【解決手段】車両制御装置は、自車両と先行車両との車間距離の実測値から目標車間距離を差し引いた車間偏差が略0となるまでの目標時間を算出する。そして車両制御装置は、車間偏差が略0から先行車両に近づく側の自車両の位置に対応する偏差となった場合に、目標減速度よりも減速度を増加させた補正減速度を算出する。そして車両制御装置は、補正減速度の大きさに応じた減速ジャークにより目標時間の到達時に車間偏差が略0となるように自車両の減速度を制御する。これにより車両制御装置は、補正減速度の大きさに応じた減速ジャークにより自車両の減速度を制御することで、揺り戻し等の自車両のユーザの快適性を阻害する要因の発生を防止しつつ、自車両を適正に減速させる制御を行える。【選択図】図2
