PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger and charging method that securely resume charging for a vehicle if abnormality is eliminated, even when the abnormality has occurred during the charging.SOLUTION: A charger 1 capable of communicating with a vehicle 2 comprises: a detection unit 5 for detecting whether or not abnormality exists in the vehicle 2 or the charger 1; and a control unit 4 that detects abnormality during charging the vehicle 2 and transmits a signal for making communication be started to the vehicle 2 when a period of time equal to or longer than predetermined time for the vehicle 2 finishing charging stop processing has passed after the charger 1 finishing charging stop processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】充電中に異常が発生した場合でも、異常が解消すれば車両への充電を確実に再開させる充電装置及び充電方法を提供する。【解決手段】車両2と通信可能な充電装置1であって、車両2あるいは充電装置1に異常があるか否かを検出する検出部5と、車両2への充電中に、異常を検出すると、充電装置1が充電停止処理を完了したのち、車両2が充電停止処理を完了するまでの所定時間以上の時間を経過すると、車両2へ通信を開始させるための信号を送信する制御部4と、を備える充電装置1である。【選択図】図1
