PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord for tire reinforcement with improved fatigue resistance, rubber permeability and reliability.SOLUTION: A steel cord for tire reinforcement 1 comprises a first-twist yarn 100 and a final-twist yarn 200 that covers an outer peripheral surface of the first-twist yarn 100 so that the steel cord has a (m+n) structure. The first-twist yarn 100 comprises multiple core wires 110. The core wires 110 have flat faces 112 that are formed at sections to be contacted with each other. The core wires 110 contact with each other at the flat faces 112. The final-twist yarn 200 has 2 to 20 pieces of element wires 210. The element wires 210 are twisted around a central axis that is an axis of the first-twist yarn 100 in a longer direction so that the twisted element wires cover the outer peripheral surface of the first-twist yarn 100. The steel cord for tire reinforcement has a non-circular cross section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1B
