PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction stir welding tool capable of conducting the friction stir welding of a butt joint generating a step on the surface thereof without needing the additional tools or a pretreatment process.SOLUTION: There is provided a friction stir welding tool for conducting the friction stir welding of the butted part of the ends in the members to be welded on the surfaces of which steps are formed. The tool equips a columnar large diameter part and a columnar small diameter part protruding from the central part of the large diameter part. The end surface of the large diameter part of a side from which the small diameter part protrudes, equips the two-stage shoulder part comprising a shoulder part for forming the alternate protrusion of an outer peripheral vicinity and another shoulder part for welding which has a diameter smaller than that of the shoulder part for forming the alternate protrusion but larger than that of the small diameter part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】表面に段差が生じた突合せ継手を接合する際に、追加的な工具や前処理工程を必要とせずに摩擦攪拌接合を行うことができる摩擦攪拌接合用工具を提供する。【解決手段】被接合部材の端部どうしの突合せ部の表面に段差が形成されている場合に前記突合せ部を摩擦攪拌接合するための摩擦攪拌接合用工具であって、円柱状の大径部と前記大径部の中央部から突出する円柱状の小径部とを備え、前記大径部の前記小径部が突出する側の端面は、外周近傍の代替凸部形成用ショルダ部と、前記代替凸部形成用ショルダ部より小径でかつ前記小径部より大径となる接合用ショルダ部と、からなる二段ショルダ部を備える。【選択図】図3
