PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a proper vehicle speed irrespective of a road status.SOLUTION: A speed control device which controls a speed of a vehicle has: regeneration means (control part 10) which supplies regenerative power to a secondary battery 14 from an alternator 16, and charges the second battery by adjusting a generation voltage of the alternator 16 which charges the secondary battery 14; acquisition means (control part 10) which acquires information indicating a status of a road on which the vehicle travels; detection means (control part 10) which detects a traveling status of the vehicle; and control means (control part 10) which controls the information indicating the status of the road on which the vehicle travels which is acquired by the acquisition means, and the regeneration means according to the traveling status which is detected by the detection means, decelerates the speed of the vehicle, and performs regeneration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
