PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety at the time of runaway of a battery.SOLUTION: A temperature control device of a battery for controlling the temperature of a battery cell 4 incorporated in a battery pack 2, by passing air from an introduction duct 6 provided in the battery pack 2 to an exhaust port 7, includes a cooling fan 10 for supplying air from the introduction duct 6 side into the battery pack 2, an exhaust valve 12 for opening and closing the exhaust port 7, a temperature sensor 21 for detecting thermal runaway by the temperature of the battery cell 4, and a cell management unit 20 for stopping air supply into the battery pack 2 by means of the cooling fan 10, when the temperature indicating thermal runaway is detected by means of a temperature sensor 21, opening the exhaust port 7 by means of the exhaust valve 12, and operating the cooling fan 10 after the cooling fan 10 is stopped and a predetermined time Tfs has elapsed after the exhaust port 7 is opened.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
