PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver's undrivable state detector capable of highly accurately detecting a driver's undrivable state.SOLUTION: A driver's undrivable state detector comprises: white-of-eye detection means detecting a state in which a driver rolls his/her eyes up into his/her head on the basis of a driver seat image picked up by a driver camera 21 mounted in a vehicle 10; and eye-rolling state detection means detecting that the driver is in an undrivable state if the white-of-eye detection means detects the state in which driver rolls his/her eyes up into his/her head during the running of the vehicle 10. The white-of-eye detection means includes expression detection means detecting an outline and a black-of-eye region of each eye of the driver on the basis of the driver seat image; and a degree-of-white-of-eye calculation means calculating a degree of the white of the eye of each eye of the driver on the basis of the outline and the black-of-eye region of each eye detected by the expression detection means, and the state detection means detects that the driver is in the undrivable state if the degree of the white of the eye is larger than a white-of-eye threshold Th3 calculated by the degree-of-white-of-eye calculation means.
【課題】ドライバの運転不能状態を高精度に検出できるドライバの運転不能状態検出装置を提供する。【解決手段】車両10に搭載されたドライバカメラ21により撮像された運転席の画像に基づいて、ドライバが白目をむいた状態を検出する白目検出手段と、車両10の走行中に、白目検出手段により白目をむいた状態が検出された場合に、ドライバが運転不能状態であることを検出する白目状態検出手段と、を備える。白目検出手段は、運転席の画像に基づいて、ドライバの目の輪郭及び黒目領域を検出する表情検出手段と、表情検出手段により検出された目の輪郭及び黒目領域に基づいて、ドライバの目の白目度合を算出する白目度合算出手段と、を備え、状態検出手段は、白目度合算出手段により算出された白目度合が白目閾値Th3よりも大きい場合に、ドライバが運転不能状態であることを検出する。【選択図】 図1
