PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic gear shifting-type device for automatically measuring oceanographic phenomenon observation data, which can change an underwater fall velocity by a simple configuration without use of a power device.SOLUTION: A device 1 for automatically measuring oceanographic phenomenon observation data measures the vertical oceanographic phenomenon observation data. The device 1 for automatically measuring the oceanographic phenomenon observation data includes a main part 10 in which a barycentric position to have an oceanographic phenomenon observation sensor 51 and a transmission line 11 for transmitting a signal obtained by the oceanographic phenomenon observation sensor 51 is located on a tip side, and a tail part 20, the inside of which is filled with air 26 and which includes an inside container 25 with flexibility.
