PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery shut-off device of a new structure capable of preventing the occurrence of a vehicle fire after flooding, by surely executing shut-off of a battery and a feeder circuit in vehicle flooding.SOLUTION: A battery shut-off device includes a shut-off part comprising a short circuit 20 for short-circuiting a + terminal 16 and a - terminal 18 of a battery 12, a power source side connection part 64 and a ground side connection part 62 provided in the short circuit 20 and maintaining the short circuit 20 in a shut-off state and a short-circuit conductor 54 separately arranged under the vertical from those, a floatation mechanism 56 for putting the short circuit 20 in a connection state by contacting with the power source side connection part 64 and the ground side connection part 62 by floating the short-circuit conductor 54 by flooding and a fusion part 30 for shutting off the connection between the battery 12 and a feeder circuit 14 by fusing when the short circuit 20 becomes a connection state.

    【課題】車両浸水時にバッテリーと給電回路の遮断を確実に実行して浸水後の車両火災の発生を防止することができる、新規な構造のバッテリー遮断装置を提供すること。【解決手段】バッテリー12の+端子16と−端子18を短絡させる短絡回路20と、短絡回路20に設けられて短絡回路20を遮断状態に維持するものであって、電源側接続部64およびグランド側接続部62と、それらから鉛直下方に離隔して配置された短絡導体54とを含んで構成された遮断部と、浸水により短絡導体54を浮上させて電源側接続部64およびグランド側接続部62に対して接触させることにより短絡回路20を接続状態とする浮上機構56と、短絡回路20が接続状態となった際に溶断してバッテリー12と給電回路14の接続を遮断する溶断部30と、を含んでいるようにした。【選択図】図2
