PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of noise while surely making a pedestrian recognize the approach of an electric vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle approach notification device detects a pedestrian who is present around an electric vehicle and notifies the pedestrian of an approach if the pedestrian is a notification target pedestrian who may come into contact with the electric vehicle, and then changes a mode of approach notification on the basis of a response of the notification target pedestrian to the notification. Thus, the notification mode can be changed according to whether or not the notification target pedestrian has noticed an approach notification sound. As a result, the device is capable of surely making a pedestrian recognize an approach of an electric vehicle and suppressing generation of noise.

    【課題】電動車両の接近を歩行者に確実に認識させつつ騒音の発生も抑制する。【解決手段】電動車両の周囲に存在する歩行者を検出し、その歩行者が電動車両に接触する可能性がある通知対象歩行者であった場合には接近を通知する。そして、通知したことによる通知対象歩行者の反応に基づいて接近通知の態様を変更する。こうすれば、通知対象歩行者が接近通知音に気付いているか否かに応じて通知態様を変更することができる。その結果、電動車両の接近を確実に歩行者に認識させることができるとともに、騒音の発生も抑制することが可能となる。【選択図】図3
